This course introduces the features and functionalities in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 that can be used to serve business data from various Line-of-Business applications such as SAP, Siebel, and databases. This course also covers Business Data Catalog access to underlying data sources with a metadata model that provides a consistent and simplified client object model.

Create a Line-of-Business (LOB) system
Explain Business Data Catalog (BDC) Functions and Operations
Configure the BDC as an object model with metadata
Use external applications in line with the BDC application definition
Create a Finder method
Implement incremental crawls in the database for indexing
Configure a Business Data List (BDL) to display a list of items from a BDC data source
Enable a single item query by creating a SpecificFinder method or identifiers for entities
Use a List Web Part to display tasks or to retrieve information from the BDC definition
