Summary:

This course introduces techniques and features for enabling and enhancing WAN and remote access solutions. This course also focuses on using one or more available WAN connection technologies for remote access between enterprise sites. Key topics of this course directly relate to knowledge and skills needed to pass the CCNP exam.

Objectives:

  • Describe the functions and operations of IDS and IPS systems
  • Implement IDS and IPS
  • Tune, analyze, and configure Cisco IDS/IPS sensors to mitigate network security threats
  • Implement basic AAA using Cisco routers
  • Mitigate threats to Cisco routers and networks using ACLs
  • Mitigate common Layer 2 attacks
  • Implement the Cisco IOS IPS feature set using SDM
  • Implement IPsec VPN on Cisco routers using SDM
