This course provides information and instruction on database corruption, how it occurs, and how to handle it.

Objectives:

  • Define block corruption
  • List the causes and symptoms of block corruption
  • Detect database corruptions using ANALYZE
  • Use DBVERIFY
  • Detect database corruptions using DBMS_REPAIR
  • Implement the DB_BLOCK_CHECKING parameter to detect corruptions
  • Repair corruptions using RMAN
